Last Night a story ran on Fox 45 TV here in Baltimore, about a woman who was found guilty recently of 2nd-degree murder in a shaken baby case on the Eastern Shore. I was not the defendant's attorney at trial, but after the trial, I, along with an attorney in Delaware, were hired to represent the defendant at sentencing, and for her subsequent appeal. Sentencing was originally set for late October, but got postponed in order to allow myself and my co-counsel to be sufficiently prepared, seeing as we were not the trial attorneys in the case. The postponement upset the victim's mother, who began calling various media outlets as a result. Once she did, Fox 45 interviewed me, to get the defense side of the story. Sentencing is now set in early January 2011. Regardless of the sentence imposed, an appeal will be taken. Stay tuned.
